The Chase’s Anne Hegerty is eyeing up a Wimbledon star to challenge her on The Chase: Celebrity Special.

Anne, known as The Governess on The Chase and its spin-offs, has seen plenty of big-name stars take on the beloved quiz show to raise money for charity, but there’s one sportsman in particular that she’d love to take on.

Speaking to and other press at the TRIC Awards 2024, Anne revealed why two-time Wimbledon champ Andy Murray is on her dream celeb list.

“I'm a massive fan of Andy,” she confessed. “At his peak, I was just watching him all the time, and so that would be fantastic.

“Andy Murray basically is who I would like to play on the show, that would be ace.”

Tennis pro Andy recently pulled out of singles competition at Wimbledon this year, instead joining brother Jamie in doubles.

Alongside her reality TV stint on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2018, Anne’s quizzing prowess has made her a household name alongside fellow Chasers Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Darragh Ennis, Mark Labbett, and Shaun Wallace.

But what about the man who’s been steering the ship since the show’s debut in 2009? Could Bradley Walsh stand a chance against the brainy behemoths he moderates?

Discussing if host Bradley could possibly swap places with the contestants, Anne confessed: "He actually is better than you think. He very often pretends to be a lot thicker than he is. He is, you know, he used to be an engineer. I mean, I always say there are no stupid engineers. And yeah, I think he might very well give us a run for our money."

On Bradley’s future on The Chase, Anne admitted he’s not going anywhere, adding: “We hope he is definitely staying on The Chase. I mean, you'd have to ask the producers. I'm pretty sure at the moment, he's happy to stay."

After trying her luck on The Chase and I’m A Celeb, it seems the TV star isn’t interested in any more reality TV

She recently told the Daily Star: “The jungle is about as big as you can get. Everything else is a bit of a step down. I don't want to do another reality show unless it involves something I want to get better at. I think I'm done.”
