My Mum Your Dad is returning to our TV screens for more middle-aged matchmaking very soon!

The popular Davina McCall fronted series was recently teased to be returning to ITV1 and ITVX this September via an ident which the broadcaster shared with viewers watching the Euros.

The dating series for single parents was also featured in ITV’s recent July-September highlights list, which also included shows such as Alan Carr’s Changing Ends series two, Grace series four, and an upcoming Mr Bates vs The Post Office follow-up documentary.

Viewers will have to be patient, however, as an official release date for My Mum Your Dad series two has still not been announced and may come much later in the year.

The series’ return was confirmed in October 2023, and the show has been casting for children to nominate their single parents since then.

Series two's synopsis teases: “Once again the grown-up kids return to the surveillance room dubbed the ‘Bunker’ where they are entrusted with the fate of their single parents as they search for love in the retreat - watching along, there will be some new twists along the way as they get a front-row seat to how their parents fare in their bid to make a romantic connection and ultimately decide if they give their blessing to any potential matches.”

Speaking exclusively with virginradio.co.uk earlier this year, Davina McCall teased that the next season would be introducing some new features to “spice” things up.

“I am really looking to the next series. We're not going to change it too much, but we're just going to spice it up a little bit,” she teased.

“I might be on hand a little bit more. But yes, [we’re] gonna get lots of experts and things to come on the show, which will be great. Kind of learning new things, teaching them new things.

“At our age, it's like trying to teach an old dog new tricks you know you're trying to kind of change,” she considered. “It didn't work for you before. How can you change for you to get the best chance at winning at love again?"
