The gang is coming back, as series three of Stephen Merchant’s critically acclaimed comedy-drama The Outlaws is due to land soon.

The new series of the hit BBC series will once again follow a group of strangers from different walks of life, who were thrown together to complete a community payback sentence in Bristol.

With series three set to arrive on BBC One and  BBC iPlayer in May, some first-look pictures have been shared, showing the return of the likes of Hollywood star Christopher Walken as Frank, an American former conman.

Jessica Gunning, currently causing a stir in Baby Reindeer, is back as Diane and, of course, writer and director Stephen Merchant once again plays Greg.

Series three begins with crime boss The Dean (Claes Bang) behind bars awaiting trial, while The Outlaws are seemingly moving on with their lives. However, one of the gang returns with a deadly secret and throws them back into mortal danger.

As a murder manhunt closes in, they’ll need to prove their innocence before The Dean’s case collapses, and he comes looking for revenge.

The comedy-drama first aired in October 2021, its production having been delayed due to Covid. Series two followed in June 2022.

The new series will arrive on the BBC in May, although an exact date has yet to be revealed.

Series one and two of The Outlaws are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
