A music icon of the past 60 years will reportedly play their final show at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Having announced in February that she is set to retire from touring, Lulu is apparently going to play at Worthy Farm following the conclusion of her last ever tour, which wraps at the London Palladium in May.

According to reports in The Sun, the 75-year-old will take to the stage at Glastonbury in June. A source told the publication: “Lulu is going to be announced as a performer at Glastonbury next week. It’s a massive deal for her and she can’t wait to play the Avalon stage

“When Glasto organiser Emily Eavis got in touch about going down to the farm she couldn’t turn it down.”

Lulu’s only other appearance at the festival came nine years ago. The source told The Sun: “It will be an emotional moment for her as it’s the last time she will ever play Glastonbury. It was magical for her when she last played on that same stage in 2015.”

The Scottish singer signed to Decca Records in 1964. At the age of 15, her version of the Isley Brothers' Shout peaked at number seven on the UK chart. She went on to have a whole bunch of hits and her own TV shows, and in 1969, she won the Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom with the song Boom Bang-a-Bang.

In 1993, she teamed up with Take That for the epic pop banger Relight My Fire.

Assuming Lulu is indeed confirmed for this year’s Glasto, she will join the likes of Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA on the bill. The three acts are headlining the Pyramid Stage, while another female superstar, Shania Twain, takes on the legends slot.

The line-up also includes the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Jessie Ware, Paul Heaton, Keane, Paloma Faith, Idles, Little Simz, Disclosure, The National, LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, James Blake and Avril Lavigne.
