Tina Malone has recalled her final moments with late husband Paul Chase, who died aged 42 in March.

The Shameless star confirmed the sad news on social media, writing: “It’s with total heartbreak I write this my husband Paul Chase Malone passed away this morning.

“We are totally devastated,” her statement on X (formally Twitter) concluded.

While Tina, who shares daughter Flame with Paul, has kept other details surrounding his death private, the actress has revealed how she spent her last day with Paul, and described how normal the previous hours had been.

Taking to X, Tina wrote: “Four weeks ago at 4pm today my hubby made scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, sausages for flame, kissed me and said see you later…. 10 hours later he was dead.”

“I am broken, so bereft,” she continued.

Fans were quick to send messages of support to Tina, with one person writing: ”I am so sorry to read this. Ur post caught my eye and I now see he was in the military. A subject so close to my heart. I’m glad to have found u on social x stay strong.”

Another commented: “The last thing you remember him doing was an act of love for your child together. <3 That is something that you will treasure in time more than you can right now. I am sending so much love from Belfast <3 to you and Flame.”

Paul was aged 42 at the time of his passing, and had been married to the former Celebrity Big Brother star for 14 years. The pair had previously starred together on Loose Women, and made several other appearances on various daytime TV shows. Despite the couple splitting briefly in 2019, their romance was rekindled in 2020.

Flame was born when the Channel 4 star was aged 50, but the pair had shared in the past with Metro.co.uk that they might consider having a second child via surrogacy.

“[We] have some embryos in Cyprus where we did our IVF and if I can talk my husband round we might go back – but we’ll have to see what happens,” the actress explained at the time.

The thoughts of everyone at Virgin Radio continue to go out to Tina, Flame, and all of Paul’s family and friends.
