In the latest episode of the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, Sophie Habboo speaks about whether she misses Made In Chelsea, and why her early dates with Jamie Laing involved a trip to the cinema but no movie.
Spooning is hosted by the son of the late Sir Terry Wogan and owner of Homeslice Pizza. You can listen to wherever you get your podcasts and also watch on Virgin Radio’s YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok channels.
Sophie Habboo is married to fellow former Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing, and joining Mark on the Spooning podcast she admits: “ I don't miss [Made In Chelsea]. It was really fun while I did it and we got to travel the world and we partied and it was all really fun but also, the show breeds toxicity and it breeds arguments. And you're not great TV if you're nice and you're not cheating on someone or breaking up with someone and so on. So I feel like, when Jamie and I got together, it was a real moment to be like, okay, our relationship probably isn't going to last if we're doing a TV show and airing all of our… it’s just not. You know, it's just not, and on the other side of things, we wouldn't really be doing a good job at the TV show if we were having a boring, normal, happy relationship. So we made the decision to leave”
Recalling some of her first dates with her now husband - with whom she hosts the Newlyweds podcast - the reality star said: “When Jamie and I first met, we used to do this really weird thing. He used to live just off the King's Road [in London], and we used to walk to Fulham cinema and we used to go and just get the Pick N’ Mix, and then we'd go home with the Pick N’ Mix. We didn’t watch a movie!”
Sophie and Jamie married in 2023. Regarding whether she will change her surname, she said: “I think maybe one day I will. It's a lot of admin!”
The reality star’s appearance on Marks’ pod is in support of Comic Relief.
