West End star Amber Davies has revealed she’s received some great advice for Dancing on Ice from an unlikely source - her Love Island ex Kem Cetinay.

The Pretty Woman stage star performed on the ice for the first time on Sunday (14th January) and landed in second on the leaderboard just behind soap star Ryan Thomas.

The second lot of celebs will hit the rink this Sunday (21st January), with DJ and TV star Adele Roberts; Coronation Street’s Claire Sweeney; Eddie ‘the Eagle Edwards’; comedian Lou Sanders; Made in Chelsea’s Miles Nazaire; and EastEnders star Ricky Norwood all ready to debut on the ice.

Amber first found fame on the massive ITV2 dating series Love Island in 2017, which she won with then-boyfriend Kem. The pair didn’t survive long outside of the Mallorcan villa, but it seems there’s no hard feelings between the former couple.

Kem took part in Dancing on Ice in 2018 and finished in fourth place, and while chatting exclusively to virginradio.co.uk, Amber admitted she’s determined to get further than her Love Island counterpart.

“What's more motivating than your ex-boyfriend being on the same TV show?,” Amber joked.

When asked if she’d spoken to her former partner about the DOI experience, the actress seemed more than willing to take on his advice.

She replied: “I have spoken to him and you know what, he's one of my best friends. He is always on the other side of the phone when I need him as am I for him.

“He was just full of great advice and he's gonna come down rinkside and support me and, you know, I'm very lucky to have a relationship like that with an ex. Even though I don't really think of him as an ex, we were only together for a little while!

Speaking of advice, it seems 2021 winner Sonny Jay didn’t have a lot to share when Amber asked for some top tips on getting to the final.

She explained: “It was funny because I said to Sonny, 'have you got any advice for me?' He was like, ‘absolutely nothing’ and he actually won the show! He was like, ‘don't ask me for any advice!’”

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday, 21st January, at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
