In a touching revelation on CBS Mornings, legendary actor Michael J. Fox expressed profound gratitude to his wife, Tracy Pollan, for standing by him during his enduring health battle.

The Back to the Future star disclosed that he would have 'forgiven' wife Tracy Pollan if she had chosen to leave after his Parkinson's disease diagnosis.

Michael J Fox's admiration for Tracy's unwavering support was evident as he shared: "At any time, she would have been forgiven to say, 'I'm just gonna step out.' But, she didn't do that. She had indicated to me by saying, 'In for better or for worse, in sickness and in health.' She was able to get me through it and go through it with me. And she has for 35 years."

Michael was diagnosed with the disease in 1991, three years after he and Tracy had tied the knot. The couple met while working together on the fourth season of Family Ties, where Tracy played Michael's love interest on the show.

The actor acknowledged the challenges they faced, drawing an analogy: "We knew the bus was coming, and we knew it was going to hit, but we didn't know how far away it was or how fast it was going."

Michael J. Fox received his Parkinson's diagnosis in 1991, three years into his marriage with Tracy Pollan. The couple initially met while working on Family Ties, where Tracy played Michael's love interest.

Reflecting on their enduring relationship, Michael humorously remarked: "It's been great for me, I don't know how it is for her. I love Tracy obviously, and she's an amazing person and has gone through a lot." He emphasised the importance of recognising Tracy's individual life beyond their shared challenges.

The 62-year-old continued: "I realise she has a life separate from me having Parkinson's, from me being Alex Keaton or Marty McFly, she's a person. I think that's why it's gone OK."

The couple, whose marriage spans 35 years, shares four children: Sam, twins Schuyler and Aquinnah, and Esmé.

In May, Michael J. Fox released the documentary Still, offering an intimate look at his acting career, early relationship with Tracy, and his 30-year battle with Parkinson's. The documentary stands as a testament to his resilience, and Tracy's unwavering support is a poignant chapter in this remarkable journey.
