Gogglebox favourites the Malone family took to social media on Wednesday, 18th October, to share the sad news that their beloved pet dog Dave has died.

Dave, a rottweiler who regularly joined the family for their watchalongs on the living room sofa, died this week, according to an Instagram post from the family’s matriarch Julie Malone.

“RIP Dave xxx,” it began. “There are no words to describe you, or how much you meant to us.”

Alongside her tribute, Julie shared a video of Dave standing proudly by the house which was taken just this weekend.

“This was you on Sunday waiting for your Dad to come back and he had only gone out to the car,” she continued emotionally.

“We are all going to miss you so much,” her post finished, along with many love heart emojis.

Fellow Gogglebox stars shared their sympathies with Julie in the comments of her post. “So sorry to hear that Julie. What a legend he was. Big hugs,” wrote Daniel Lustig-Webb.

Izzi Warner penned: “Awww rest in peace Dave. Sending you all lots of love xx.”

Georgia Bell echoed this statement, adding: “He was such a beauty and a true entertainer.”

Gogglebox’s Malone family are some of the series’ longest serving participants, having been a part of the show since series four.

Fans poured love into the comments of Julie’s post. “I’m sorry for you family’s loss. I’m going to miss seeing him on Gogglebox. RIP Dave,” said one person.

Another penned: “Such heartbreaking news… Sensing love to all the Malones.”

“OMG, you are loved from around the world Dave,” another stressed. “You were the best boy RIP Dave, sending hugs from Australia,” they added.

Virginradio.co.uk would like to join fans in wishing all the best to the Malone family at this difficult time.

Gogglebox is currently airing on Channel 4 every Friday from 9pm.
