The TV personality had already lost five other loved ones in recent years.

Former Gogglebox star Sandra Martin has announced that her sister Jennifer Richards has died.

The 61-year-old shared the news on social media alongside photos of her sister.

Since then, fans of the award-winning reality TV show have shown their support for Martin on X (aka Twitter).

One person tweeted: “So sorry for your loss Sandra.”

Another said: “Thinking of you Sandra. Stay blessed.”

The death of Martin’s sister comes just a few years after she lost five other loved ones during the pandemic, including her sister-in-law and uncle.

Martin first appeared on Gogglebox in 2013 alongside her friend, Sandi Bogle, and she was known for her loud reactions, bold jewellery, and long fake nails.

After Bogle left Gogglebox in 2016, Martin continued to do the show with her daughter Chanchez but ultimately quit one year later.

Back in March 2023, the 61-year-old spoke to The Sun about how they secured a place on the show.

She recalled being in a pub in London celebrating her 50th birthday when she and Sandi were spotted by talent scouts.

They exchanged numbers and by the following day, they had signed the contract.

Martin, who had “been on benefits for years”, explained: “They said, ‘All you’ve got to do is sit down, order a big pizza and watch TV.’

“Oh my God, I started to cry. I told the socials, ‘I’ve got a job now,’ and I cried.”
