Pop icon and football fan Robbie Williams has seemingly traded teams for one song only.

Despite being a life-long Port Vale fan, the former Take That singer has shared his love of new Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou by jumping on a cover of his hit Angels to pay tribute to the Australian boss.

It comes after Spurs fan, James Black, reworked the lyrics to the 1997 classic to praise Postecoglou, and also poke fun at some of the team’s former coaches.

Needing to join in the fun, Robbie posted his own version to Instagram, and sang the lyrics: “And through it all, we’ll play the way we want too, with big Ange Postecoglou. Whether I’m right or wrong.

"It’s big Ange ball. So you can keep your Pochettino, Conte, and Mourinho, and even Christian Gross. Everywhere we go we’re lovin’ big Ange instead."

“Guess I’m a Spurs fan now,” Robbie joked at the end of the clip.

Postecoglou joined Spurs as head coach in June, and the team are currently third on the Premier League table.

Clearly bowled over by the BRIT Award-winning artist singing his lyrics, James replied to the Instagram post, writing: “Thanks for singing my lyrics mate .. You’re a star.”

While you might not expect a football anthem out of Robbie, he’s clearly trying out new things as he recently admitted he wants to record a rock version of It's Raining Men with Radiohead.

The Kids hit maker shared how he wanted to enlist Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and co for the incredible 80s hit from the Weather Girls, but with more of a rock flare.

He recently told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: “I want to do a cover of ‘It’s Raining Men’ but I want Radiohead to do a backing track for me.

"But they have not got back to me. I keep asking but nothing back. I dunno. I might ask Trent Reznor.”
