Deadpool 3 might’ve stopped filming, but that doesn’t mean Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are spending any time apart.

The frenemies have been hilariously ‘waring’ for years, but the two seemingly set aside the trolling (for now) to film the latest in the Deadpool series

However, with cameras down for the current Hollywood actors strike, it seems the pair are still enjoying each other’s company, with Hugh attending his first Wrexham FC match on Saturday (5th August).

The Welsh team, owned by Reynolds and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney, played at home against the MK Dons, but while it wasn’t a winning day for Wrexham, they did have some serious star power watching on, with Hugh making his debut at the club (and letting everyone know about it!).

Taking to Twitter, the Wolverine star shared two photos alongside Deadpool himself Reynolds, as well as pal McElhenney, while the game was unfolding.

Taking a cheeky dig at his co-star/frenemy, Hugh wrote that he “finally snagged an invite” to the game, almost three years after Reynolds bought the club.

Not to be outdone but his Marvel co-star, Reynolds shared the same smiling photo of him with Jackman on his Instagram post, and jokingly thanked his friend for his “first and last day as ‘Admiral Vice Football Operations Ombudsman’.”

“I just found out you made the f****** title up,” he added.

Unfortunately for Wrexham, they finished the tense game by losing three goals to MK Dons’ five. Ever the sportsman though, Reynolds praised the opposing team for “playing like heroes.”

It’s currently unclear when filming can resume on Deadpool 3, or if the current release date will remain in place.

Reynolds first announced that Jackman would be back playing Wolverine for the third Deadpool movie in September 2022, with a release date of September 2024. That date was then pushed to November.

Jackman played the claw-wielding character in nine films within the X-Men franchise and supposedly retired from playing him in the 2017 movie Logan.
