Life imitated art as Succession's Brian Cox opened the London Stock Exchange in true Logan Roy style. Suited and booted, the actor visited the Paternoster Square building to ring the bell to mark the beginning of the trading day.

Ready for business, the Succession star — who plays Waystar Royco founder and family patriarch Logan Roy — looked in his element as he got proceedings off to a powerful start with a musical quartet playing the series’ iconic theme tune in the background.

The Scottish actor has previously opened the New York Stock Exchange, but he joked 'this was more civilised and slightly more secretive' and said he never expected to do it 'in a million years' did he expect to do it.

The Troy actor has been in London and on the red carpet at the British Museum alongside show creator Jesse Armstrong to mark the HBO hit's fourth and final series.

The much-loved actor appeared at the New York Succession premiere as Logan Roy and could be heard mouthing off on the red carpet, caught on camera by Deadline during an interview with Fisher Stevens.

“It’s the right ending for the show,” said Cox, who said it is the British writing team led by Armstrong who called time on it.

“These British writers have discipline and know that a show has a shelf life,” he added.

“Most shows go past their sell by date but Jesse always knew he wanted to finish, although he was terrified about finishing it.”

Succession season 4 begins on March 27 on HBO Max.
